ISLAMABAD, July 23: Aamir Atlas Khan, Danish Atlas Khan, Waqar Mehboob, Farhan Zaman and Shoaib Hasan, along with two officials, left for Zurich on Wednesday to participate in the Men’s World Junior Squash Championship to be held there from July 28 to Aug 7.

Aamir, the top seed for the Zurich event, was optimistic about his performance in the prestigious global competition.

“I hope to win the title as I am in a better form, both physically and mentally,” the 17-year-old Aamir said.

“I am under pressure a bit as people are expecting a lot from me, but I hope to come up to their expectations,” he expressed.

Aamir, currently 23rd in world rankings, also said the Zurich championship would be his last chance to win a junior title.

“It is one of the important tournaments of my career and will be my last chance to clinch the world junior title as after that I will not be featuring in the World Junior Championship,” he added.

Players in the Pakistan squad will be participating in the team and individual events at the Zurich championship.
