LAHORE, July 23: Wapda employees staged a demonstration against the increase in POL prices and gas and electricity tariff outside the Lahore Press Club here on Wednesday.

The employees raised slogans and displayed banners and placards on which they had written slogans condemning the increase in petrol prices and gas and electricity tariff.

Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan Wapda Employees Paigham Union deputy president Ehsan Chaudhry said there was no justification for increase in petrol prices as 40 per cent oil requirement was being met from national resources.

The prices in international market had fallen from $147 to $127 per barrel and Saudi Arabia had deferred $6 billion oil bill payment.—Reporter
