LAHORE, July 22: Flamboyant all-rounder Shahid Afridi is likely to miss the entire national training camp which started in Kakul on Monday as the first phase to prepare the team for the ICC Champions Trophy.

The camp concludes on July 28.

“Except Afridi all 24 players called for the camp have reported,” camp commandant Talat Ali told Dawn from Kakul on Tuesday.

“Afridi is taking care of his ill wife in Karachi and according to the player he may have to take her out of the country for treatment,” Talat added.

“Afridi visits the doctor daily with his wife, this is the information I have about him,” he said, adding that the player’s wife had also been unwell during the recently concluded Asia Cup.

About Younis Khan, Talat said after performing Umrah the batsman had also joined the camp.
