Olympic hockey trials today

KARACHI, July 20: Ground No 2 of the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore will on Monday become the venue for the final selection of 16 players out of the 30 probables for the Pakistan hockey team for next month’s Beijing Olympics.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has also invited six players from the junior team that just recently returned from the Indian city of Hyderabad after competing in the 6th Junior Asia Cup there.

Besides PHF’s National Selection Committee Chairman Islahuddin Siddiqui, member Syed Muddasar Asghar and Manager/Chief Coach Khwaja Zakauddin, the trials will also be attended by PHF President Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali along with Secretary Asif Bajwa.
