BRISBANE, July 16: New Zealand all-rounder Jesse Ryder made a successful comeback from injury to lead New Zealand to a five-wicket win over South Africa in the emerging players’ cricket tournament on Tuesday.

Ryder took two wickets as New Zealand bundled the young Proteas out for just 94 in the first one-day match of the tournament.

He then opened the innings and scored 27 as New Zealand cruised past the total in the 28th over.—Reuters
