HUNZA, July 16: At least three persons were feared dead after their car veered off the Karakoram Highway and plunged into the Hunza River between Shishkat and Sarat villages, some 25km north of Aliabad, Hunza.

The accident took place at around 8pm on Tuesday, but came to light at 2pm on Wednesday when a tractor driver found some parts of the vehicle near the accident site.

According to the police, the three car occupants were on their way to Aliabad. The victims were identified as Sultan (driver), Nambardar Fida Hussain from Shishkat and Qaimat Karim from Aliabad.

A rescue team of the Focus Humanitarian Assistance started a search operation, but could not recover the missing persons till the filing of this report.
