JACOBABAD, July 16: Rice mills’ workers on the call of Jacobabad Rice Mills Employees Union took out a rally to protest against ill treatment meted out to them by the mill managements.

The rally started from the old grain market and after passing through different roads of the city reached outside the press club where the protesters observed token hunger strike.

Speaking on the occasion, labour leaders, Mashooq Kharani, Abdul Sattar Jakhrani and others said that they were paid low wages hence were in deep trouble due to price hike.

They appealed to MNA Aijaz Jakhrani, MPA Raja Abdul Rahim Khoso to ensure increase in their wages.

DROWN: An elderly woman drowned in Pat Feeder canal near Kashmore on Tuesday.

Reports said that Ms Sasan was on her way to Karachi in a Peshawar-bound coach.

The coach stopped near the Pat Feeder canal and she went for some need near the feeder where suddenly she slipped and fell into the canal and drowned.
