Breach in canal floods village

JACOBABAD, July 12: A 15-feet wide breach developed in Ghouspur minor in Kandhkot, early on Saturday.

Reports said 15 houses were inundated, while families managed to save their lives. However, all their household items and grain were lost.

Irrigation official failed to reach the spot while villagers plugged the breach on self-help basis. No loss of life was reported but household articles worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed.

Affectees include Siyano, Abdul Hameed Otho, Abdul Majeed and others.—BoC
