SUKKUR, July 11: A teenage girl has been detained by Women Police Sukkur on charges of stealing hundreds of cell phones and household items.

Samreen 16, d/o Juma Khan was arrested from Takkar Mohalla on Friday as residents of different localities of the city had complained in writing to the DPO alleging Samreen of being involved in theft of cell phones from various area houses. The complainants include Naeem, Nadeem, Nasreen, Amna and others.

A team of women police, on the directives of the DPO, raided her house and arrested the girl. Samreen during initial interrogation confessed before the In-charge Women Police, Samina Mangi of stealing dozens of mobile phones and disclosed the names of her accomplices.

Sources claimed that her cousin Sonia residing near the Railway Hospital was the key accused and four other women, including two teenaged girls were part of the gang.
