HYDERABAD, July 11: An action committee has been formed by the lawyers of the city here on Friday which would hold a convention on the same day when Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar would visit Hyderabad to inaugurate the newly renovated sessions’ court’s building.

Abdul Satar Kazi (convener), Nisar Durrani, Ayaz Tunio, Nadeem Hyder Tareen, Mumtaz Lashari, Ghulam Sarwar Buledi, Zafar Rajput, Inder Jeet and Hussain Bux Thebo are the members of the committee.

The committee’s meeting is scheduled for Saturday at 11am in Hyderabad District Bar Association (HDBA) office.

The High Court Bar Association Joint Secretary of Hyderabad chapter and member of the action committee, Ayaz Tunio, told Dawn that the committee was formed with the sole purpose to hold AN anti-PCO chief justice programme on the day of his visit.

He said that if the PCO chief justice cancelled his programme, the action committee would also postpone its protest.

He said that action committee was planning to hold a convention on the same day when the judge would visit Hyderabad.

He further said that consultation was going on with Karachi Bar Association (KBA) office-bearers and bar-associations of adjoining districts.

The sessions court building is under its final phase of renovation, under an Asian Development Programme.

Under the programme all the courtrooms, judges’ chambers, corridors had been completely refurbished and some facilities are being provided for litigants and court staff as well.

Temporarily courts of the sessions judge and the additional session judges are functioning in civil courts building since a year.
