PESHAWAR, July 9: The NWFP government plans to set up facilitation centres for women in trouble all over the province.

According to a handout issued here on Wednesday, NWFP Minister for Women Development and Social Welfare Sitara Ayaz said the women facilitation centres would be established on the pattern of rescue centres. Women would be able to contact the centres regarding their problems.

The minister called on the project director of the National Gender Reforms Action Plan of the Ministry of Women Development, Rehana Hashmi, on Wednesday and discussed with her new, ongoing and proposed schemes of women development and social welfare sectors.

Ms Sitara said all possible steps would be taken for social, political and economic empowerment of women in the province. They would be provided with equal opportunities in all spheres of life, she said. — Bureau Report
