HYDERABAD, July 9: The candidates for teachers’ jobs in Tharparkar who have passed an IBA-supervised test and await offer letters accused the DCO on Wednesday of creating hurdles to their appointment and demanded his removal.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here, the representatives of the candidates warned that they would stage protest outside the Mithi press club on July 11 if the DCO was not removed.

They accused the DCO of changing schedule for new expenditure (SNE) of 484 villages for the appointment of teachers, peons and watchmen. They said only 1,300 candidates had passed the IBA test for 1,700 vacancies for teachers in the district still the administration was reluctant in giving them appointment letters.

They claimed that the DCO got the former EDO of education transferred after he refused to obey his illegal orders. Now the DCO himself used the powers of EDO education, they added.

They said that the DCO refused to obey the SNEs approved by the district council and some candidates had already filed a writ petition in the Sindh High Court against denial of jobs.
