KARACHI, July 5: Reacting strongly to Save Football Movement’s (SFM) Friday afternoon demonstration at the Karachi Press Club, the Chairman, Zonal Football Association, District South, Karachi, Nasir Karim Baloch said on Saturday that it was a matter which was not at all related to the game of football.

Calling it a political matter, the district South head, while talking to Dawn said: “Well, what else does one make of it when even after inviting all those associated with the so-called movement to share their grievances with the official football association of their area, you find that no one wants to talk to you?

“Instead they decide to directly challenge the national team. How about taking on the local clubs first? Our association is working to promote football in their district and they aren’t even interested in talking to us. What kind of an attitude is that?”

While sharing the PFF president’s vision for Karachi, Nasir said that “Faisal Sahib has endeavoured to take this game to heights it has never experienced before in the region. Before he took over as PPF head, we didn’t even have proper offices to function from. But now after successful completion of the goal project in Lahore, we are also looking into setting up a FIFA Football House in Karachi and it is my earnest appeal to such agitators as the SFM people to kindly let us carry on with the good work regarding the promotion of football in Pakistan,” he concluded.
