LAHORE, July 4: Punjab PPP-SB President Dr Mubashir Hasan says he is in contact with some senior leaders of the PPP who, like him, worked with the late Zulfikar Bhutto, but “we have not met or collectively thought about any political reorganization”.

Talking to reporters here on Friday, he said he was in touch with Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi, Ghulam Mustafa Khar, Mumtaz Bhutto, Abdul Hafeez

Pirzada and Tahir Muhammad Khan.

“We are all worried about the country and its future. Things are breaking down. There's hardly any party which is coherent. There are differences among all parties, big or small.”

He was asked about the possible cooperation among the anti-Zardari elements, as being speculated by the media.

Dr Hasan said as far as he knew, Miss Sassi Bhutto, a student in USA, was visiting her cousin Fatima Bhutto and was staying with them. "I am not aware of anything political going on between them because Fatima herself is not yet in politics. It’s a family meeting".

The PPP-SB leader said Mumtaz Butto, being the sardar of the tribe frequently met Fatima, Zulfikar Junior and Ghinwa Bhutto. His meetings with Sassi were also in the same context.

“I don’t see these young Bhuttos jumping into politics immediately.”

He said he was worried about Bilawal Zardari because he too was a young man, very friendly with his cousins Fatima and Zulfikar.

“I am afraid that Mr Zardari has not acted wisely in bringing him into politics.”

Dr Hasan said: “These are turbulent times for the country. Nobody knows how things are going to shape up. The more the younger generation of the Bhuttos keep their distance from politics, the better.”
