MIRPURKHAS, July 4: An 18-day old baby expired due to treatment refusal by the Medical Superintendent Taluka Hospital Pithoro.

Relatives, carrying the dead body staged demonstration outside Umerkot Press Club against the responsible doctor on Friday.

Father Qabool Ahmed Shar told reporters that at around 3am they rushed the baby at Taluka Hospital Pithoro where Dr Mohan neither admitted nor treated the baby on the plea that he was not a paediatrician, rather advised them to go to Umerkot Hospital.

Perhaps, the inability to pay for private conveyance forced them to stay outside the hospital and when in the morning they rushed to the Civil Hospital Umerkot, it was too late for the baby and he expired there.

Allahdad Shar, Mor Shar and Qabool Shar carrying the body staged demonstration against the doctor and demanded the authorities to lodge a murder case against him, as his intervention might have had saved the little soul.
