ISLAMABAD, July 1: Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi called on President Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday and briefed him on the law and order situation and development projects in the province.

The governor is reported to have brought to the notice of the president the shortage of funds being faced by his province.

The president praised Nawab Magsi’s efforts to maintain stability in Balochistan and said he should take necessary steps to ensure peace in the province and provide necessities of life to the people.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Tariq Majeed also called on President Musharraf on Tuesday.

He briefed the president on deliberations of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee meeting held on Monday.

The president said that efforts were being made to ensure that the professional requirements of the armed forces would be met and they would be adequately equipped to cope with the challenges.
