KHAIRPUR, May 3: Three separate cases of water theft and illegal cutting down of trees were lodged against as many as 57 growers at Kot Diji, Faiz Ganj, and Thari Mirwah police stations here on Thursday.

An irrigation employee, Chanesar Mahsori, has lodged an FIR at the Faiz Ganj police station against Faqir Bakhat Ail and 35 others that they had cut down some 31 trees from RD No. 29/30 of Ratar Shakh. The stolen tree are said to be worth rupees Rs200,000.

At Thari Mirwah police station, Darogha Dhani Bux Rajar and Roshan Ali Shar have lodged two separate FIRs stating that accused Ibrahim, Abdul Ghani, Wali Dad, Waris, Haji Kamal and Naseer Ahmed (all by caste Mandan) Akram Shar, Hakim, Qurban Ali, Khuda Bux, Niaz Ali, son of Fateh Ali, Niaz Ali, son of Arbab, Niaz Ali, son of Allah Warayo, had stolen irrigation water by breaking modules of watercourses of Sada Rang Shakh and Sawai Shakh. Sub-engineer Abdul Ghani Katohar has registered an FIR at the Kot Diji police station against eight persons.
