HYDERABAD, June 24: Lawyers boycotted courts for an hour on Tuesday in response to a call for protest given by the Pakistan Bar Council and the Supreme Court Bar Association to protest unnecessary delay in the reinstatement of deposed judges.

They wore black armbands and did not appear before civil, sessions and high courts for an hour between 11 am to 12 noon.

They staged a rally in the premises of civil courts, which was led by president of High Court Bar Association Hyderabad, president of Hyderabad District Bar Association, secretary of HDBA and joint secretary of HCBA.

They raised slogans against PCO judges and in favour of non-functional Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Choudhry and “Go Musharraf Go”.

Some lawyers led by Zahoor A. Baloch, Sultan Sheikh, and others also staged a rally in support of Mian Nawaz Sharif and criticised the court’s verdict.
