KHAIRPUR, June 21: An alleged criminal was killed by police in an encounter near Danwaro minor on the National Highway late on Friday night.

According to Tando Masti police, it noticed movement of some criminals on the National Highway on a routine patrol.

On seeing police, the highwaymen opened fire on the police near Danwaro minor. Police also returned the fire as a result of which one of the highwayman died on the spot while his accomplices managed to escape.

Police brought the body of the criminal to Tando Masti police station on Saturday morning. Police claimed that the deceased Arz Mohammad Lohar was resident of district Shikarpur and said that he was involved in various crimes.
