RAWALPINDI, June 20: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Khan Durrani placed one assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and four constables under suspension and issued show-cause notice to the Civil Lines station house officer (SHO) when he paid a surprise visit to the police station here on Friday.

According to a press release, the RPO found the record of the police incomplete and in a bad shape. The detail of cases involving property recoveries were also missing.

Reader of the station, an ASI, tried to conceal the facts and was found trying to mislead the office of City Police Officer (CPO) regarding actual statement of pending investigations. On this the RPO immediately placed him under suspension and transferred him to lines.

Four constables were found absent from duty and they were also placed under suspension.

The SHO was unfamiliar with the numbers of declared proclaimed offenders of his station and cases under investigation. Moreover, majority of cases involving white collar crime were found pending without any reason.

The visiting officer observed that probably the investigations were being lingered to blackmail both parties for ulterior motives. On this, the SHO was issued show-cause notice for his poor performance.
