PESHAWAR, June 20: The police seem to have lost their grip over criminals as the ratio of crimes in the provincial capital is increasing fast.

According to details, collected through various sources, during the past six months, 214 murders and 248 attempted murder cases were reported in Peshawar.

Similarly, 247 persons were injured, 15 of them grievous;

58 persons were kidnapped from various parts of the city, 20 of them for ransom; among them 14 were minors.

Abduction cases during this period were 18.
