PESHAWAR, June 20: NWFP government has constituted a committee for distribution of funds amounting to Rs115.1 million among the people affected by the military operation in Swat and Shangla districts.

The committee would determine losses and distribute funds amongst the affected people or their legal heirs through a just, fair and transparent mechanism.

In case of losses/damages occurred to buildings/houses, an assessment would be made by the Works and Services Department, and a motor vehicle examiner would assess the losses caused to the vehicles, to dispose of the pending compensation cases submitted to the home department or the respective DCOs' offices as well as to ensure fulfilment of all necessary formalities.

The committee comprises RCO Malakand as its Chairman, and DCO, DOR, and DPO of the Swat and Shangla districts, as its members.—APP
