SAHIWAL, June 14: The DPO suspended an ASI from service on charges of misconduct and misuse of powers.

Anwar had alleged in his complaint that ASI Muhammad Sarwer threatened him with dire consequences if he continued demanding the money given to him (ASI) in bribe. The DPO ordered an inquiry which found the ASI guilty of charges.

KILLED: A youth was killed while five others sustained serious injuries in an accident on Pakpattan-Sahiwal Road at Wakilwala on Saturday.

Reports said that a car, coming from Pakpattan, collided with a truck coming from the opposite side. As a result, Punu, 20, died on the spot while Amir, Rashid and three others suffered serious injuries.

The Rescue 1122 admitted the injured to the local DHQ Hospital.

Police have registered a case against the absconding truck driver.
