LARKANA, June 14: An employee of Moenjodaro Museum was injured in an attack by his colleague in the presence of a director due to disagreement over some departmental issue.

Assistant Conservator Moenjodaro Ali Haidar Gadhi was injured when Curator Jawed allegedly attacked him in the presence of Director Southern Circle of Archaeology on Saturday at the site while discussing certain departmental issue. The staff immediately went on strike by shutting down the museum and the main gate which remained closed from 10.30am to 5pm.

Ali Haidar Gadhi said that curator attacked him when Director asked Jawed to catalogue the artifacts lying in ‘reserve.’ “He punched me on the face resulting in a bleeding nose,” said Gadhi and added: “The matter was reported to the Airport police station and I referred to the Taluka Hospital Dokri for treatment and X-ray.” Sources said Haidar was hurt by the rings curator was wearing on his fingers.

However, Jawed said that was just a misunderstanding leading to the incident. He alleged Ali Haidar of attacking him.
