LONDON, June 11: Sachin Tendulkar will play three matches for the Lashings World XI this season as part of his preparations for India's Test and limited-overs series against Sri Lanka.

The England-based charity fundraising team on Wednesday said Tendulkar would play matches on June 24, June 27 and July 4.

Tendulkar is among a host of big names to have appeared for the Lashings World XI. Others include Muttiah Muralitharan, the leading Test bowler of all time, West Indies batting greats Brian Lara and Viv Richards and Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar.—AP
