ISLAMABAD, June 10: Thirty-two players reported on the first day of the national junior hockey camp at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Ground on Tuesday.

The camp is set up in preparation for the Junior Asia Cup which will be held in Hyderabad, India, from July 8 to 18.

Pakistan have been placed in Group ‘B’ with South Korea, Bangladesh, Oman and Thailand.

Group ‘A’ comprises India, Malaysia, Japan, China and Singapore.

Pakistan’s manager-cum-chief coach Jahangir Butt during the camp said they were expecting tough competition against South Korea.

About the training of the team, he said the morning session was reserved for physical training while in the evening, players took part in match practice. He added that the environment and temperature of the city was suitable for young players’ training.
