SUKKUR, June 10: Four people, including women, were killed and 50 others, majority of them women and children, were injured when the coach they were traveling in overturned near Pano Akil on the National Highway on Tuesday.

The injured passengers held the driver responsible for the accident. They told journalists that the driver was half sleepy and half awake as he drove the vehicle.

Ms Khatoon, Ms Rasheeda, Allah Yar and another unidentified man were killed on the spot and the injured, including driver Mohammad Akram, Bashiran, Hussain Ali, Asad, Abdul Sattar, Mansha, Shahadat Ali, Aslam, Luqman, Latif, Ahmed Ali, Aijaz, Irfan, Riaz, Mohammad Yousuf, Zameer Ahmed, Haider Ali and Manzoor Ahmed were taken to taluka hospital and Combined Military Hospital of Pano Akil.

Some seriously injured were later moved to Sukkur Civil Hospital.

In another accident, a man was killed and two others suffered injuries when their pickup overturned after one of its tyres deflated near Mirpur Mathelo on the National Highway on Tuesday.

The driver Mohammad Hayat Malik was killed on the spot and Haji Nazar Thaheem and Shafiullah Jiskani were injured and moved to Mirpur Mathelo Civil Hospital.

Mohammad Hayat was carrying mangoes to Rahimyar Khan from Ghotki when he met the accident.
