RAWALPINDI, June 5: An anti-terrorism court here on Thursday remanded four suspects of a rocket attack on air force complex, Kamra in judicial custody and sent them to jail for 14 days.

ATC-I Judge Chaudhry Habibur Rehman consented to the request of station house officer (SHO) Saddar Attock for sending Syed Arab, Gul Roze, Tehseen Ullah and Muhammad Shafique to jail after police completed their preliminary investigation.

The prosecution said the suspects belonged to the NWFP and ran away after carrying out the attack on the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra. The police also said they suspected their involvement in some bomb blasts in Rawalpindi.

In the attack four rockets were fired at the complex on January 17 and one of the rockets landed on the roof of senior non-commissioned officers’ mess and two others hit airmen’s residences inside the Mirage Rebuilt Factory. The fourth rocket exploded in a field near the Qutba village, close to the Kamra Cantonment. No casualty was reported.

Meanwhile, a man lodged a complaint of murder of his son with Kahuta police.

Mohammad Shakeel in his complaint alleged that his son Yasir Nadeem was murdered by Habibullah, Naeemullah and Tanveer as he went to meet Habibullah.

The complainant said his son left the house after receiving a call from Habibullah. When he did not return for quite some time, the family of Habibullah was contacted but they did not give a satisfactory response. Sometime later Muhammad Alam a resident of the same locality told that he saw Habib and Yasir going towards the jungle.

A search was made and they found the body of Yasir buried under stones in the jungle.

In another case a man was electrocuted in Airport police area on Thursday. Mazhar in his thirties was a conductor of a dumper and when the truck was being unloaded he was sitting on the vehicle.

When the driver moved back the dumper it came into contact with a high voltage electric wire that caused the death of the conductor.
