LAHORE, June 3: A ‘rape’ victim lodged a strong protest in front of the Lahore Press Club on Tuesday against the Manga Mandi investigation police for not arresting the three accused.

Flanked by her family members, relatives and locals, the victim (R) of High Noon Maraka Quarters, Multan Road, reached the LPC at noon and started shouting against the police for patronising accused Hanif and accomplices.

She complained that the investigation police had not arrested the accused despite registering an FIR on May 28.

She alleged in the FIR that Haneef had raped her at gunpoint in the absence of her husband, saying he wanted to settle the score with her for an old case she had lodged against him with the Chuhng police station.

According to the complainant, Haneef’s two unidentified accomplices guarded him during the commission of the crime.

The protesters, who carried banners against the police, also blocked the road which was later cleared by police.
