PIA clinch Aga Khan Gold Cup

RAWALPINDI, May 1: PIA clinched the All-Pakistan Aga Khan Gold Cup hockey tournament at the ARL Naseer Bunda Ground Wednesday with a solitary goal victory over National Bank Whites.

After both sides were unable to score in the first half on the uneven grassy ground, PIA needed a 60th minute strike from Aqeel to claim the trophy.

PIA were clearly the dominant side and were on the offensive almost throughout the game, but ball-stopping and dribbling was difficult on the bumpy surface that saw more than half a dozen of their short corners being wasted.
