LAHORE, May 29: The coalition government in Punjab plans to expand the provincial cabinet after the passage of the budget for the next fiscal 2008-09, says senior provincial minister Raja Riaz.

Speaking to reporters at a lunch hosted by Lahore PPP leader Zikrya Butt for him on Thursday, he said the names of the new ministers were yet to be decided by the leadership of the coalition partners – the Pakistan People’s Party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

In answer to a question, the minister said the differences between the two parties on transfer and posting of government officials was the only bone of contention between them.

“But things have smoothened since the formation of a joint committee to look after the grievances of the legislators of the two parties. —Staff Reporter
