Poor quality cotton seed

TOBA TEK SINGH, May 28: Poor quality cotton seed is on sale at different shops in the district.

Farmers say seed certification and registration department staff were doing nothing to stop the practice.

Seed inspector Inamul Haq however claimed that drive was on against poor quality seed sellers and so far 20 shopkeepers had been challanned.

REJECTED: A local anti-corrpution judge rejected on Wednesday bail before arrest confirmation application of Rajana police sub-inspector Sharif Khairra in a case registered by Toba police against him under section 409 PPC.

Earlier, the court had granted him bail before arrest for but when he appeared for confirmation on Wednesday, it reversed its decision. The SI however managed his escape. He was charged with misappropriation of 18 mobile phone sets which he had recovered from a dacoity accused. —Correspondent
