ST JOHN’S (Antigua), May 17: Middle-order batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan will lead the West Indies against Australia in the first Test at Sabina Park, Jamaica from May 22 to 26.

Dwayne Bravo was named vice-captain when the squad was announced by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) on Friday.

Chris Gayle, who led the team in the home series against Sri Lanka in March and April, has been ruled out due to a groin injury.

Left-handed opening batsman Sewnarine Chattergoon is recovering from a shoulder injury and was also unavailable for selection.
