Woman killed, daughter abducted

GUJRANWALA, Oct 6: A woman was shot dead while her daughter was abducted by four men in Aroop area on Saturday.

According to details, Nasreen was on her way home with daughter Attia in a rickshaw when Amjad, Tariq, Ilyas and Arshad intercepted them near Aroop. They opened fire, killing Nasreen on the spot and forcibly taking away Attia with them.

Family said that Nasreen had refused the proposal of Amjad for her daughter.

Police registered the case against the accused with no arrest.

FAKE OIL SEIZED: A fake break oil factory in Khiali Shahpur was unearthed, police said on Saturday.

Police said that on a tip-off, they raided the factory and seized fake break oil from there.

A case was registered against factory owner Mukhtar Ahmad and his accomplices. Further investigations were under way.

STABBED: Rivals on Saturday stabbed a man to death and injured his brother over a minor issue in Garjakh.

Two brothers Abid and Shahid had forbidden Munir Ahmad and Aziz Ahmad for draining out water in front of their house in Rahmatpura street. After an exchange of harsh arguments, Munir and Aziz attacked both brothers with knives, killing Abid instantly and injuring Shahid seriously. He was rushed to the local civil hospital in critical condition.

Garjakh police have registered a case and are investigating.
