NAROWAL, May 8: Two people were killed and 14 others injured when a speeding bus struck against a tree near Sahdaray village on Narowal–Zafarwal Road on Thursday.

Reports said the Zafarwal-bound bus (JA-795) was on its way. Near Sahdaray, the driver lost control over the vehicle and it struck against a tree.

As a result two passengers were killed on the spot while 14 others identified as Asma, Tanveer Akhter, Shazia, Shabana, Abdullah, Amber, Arif, Abdul Hameed, Irshad Ahmed, Mumtaz Ahmed, Muhammad Shafique, Muhammad Ali, Asim and Nawaz sustained injuries.

One of the deceased has been identified as Fazal Mehmood.

The injured were removed to Narowal DHQ Hospital. Later Nawaz and his daughter-in-law Shazia were shifted to Lahore due to their critical condition.
