HYDERABAD, May 3: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has called for a feasibility report for the construction of a bridge on the Indus River between Hyderabad and Kotri and an overhead bridge on the telegraph railway crossing in Kotri.

This was disclosed by a PPP MNA from Kotri, Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur, while speaking at an open katchehry at Kotri on Saturday.

The president of All Merchant Association of Kotri, Mohammad Rafique Khan, chairman Kotri Citizens Organisation, Akbar Ali Shoro, Sindh Hari Committee leader, M.S Bhurgari and a large number of people attended the open katchehry.

The leaders of public opinion invited the attention of the MNA towards the frequent power outages, police excesses, increase in crimes and health and educational problems.

The MNA contacted the federal minister for water and power on telephone and requested him to order the replacement of worn out transformers and electric wires to control unscheduled loadshedding. The MNA told the open katchehry that he had requested the prime minister to order an inquiry into the use of substandard material on the construction and renovation of the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.—Bureau
