HYDERABAD, May 3: The newly appointed DPO of Hyderabad, Mr Najaf Ali Mirza, has held out an assurance that he will leave no stone unturned in controlling street crimes and improving traffic system and added that he is already working in this direction.

He, however, stressed the need for public support and cooperation in his endeavours.He was speaking as chief guest at the traffic week programme organised by the institute of Modern Sciences and Arts here on Saturday.

A large number of students and teaches of the institute attended the function.

He said that he was the son of Hyderabad and was fully alive to the problems confronting the people.

He, however, said that he had taken the charge of DPO only a few days ago and was taking stock of the situation.

He held out an assurance that he was determined to restore peace and order in this historic city and added that no criminal however high and mighty would be spared.

He said with the increase in the population, traffic problems had also multiplied which needed to be tackled with the cooperation of the people as there was shortage of traffic staff. He said traffic check posts will also be increased.

Earlier, the chairman of the institute, Syed Shafique Haider Mousvi in his welcome speech underlined the traffic problems.

He advised the youth to realise their responsibilities as a good citizen and follow the traffic rules and regulations.

The principal of the institute Mr Sobia Mari also spoke on the occasion.
