PESHAWAR, May 3: A meeting of the Pakistan People’s Party-Sherpao (PPP-S) has demanded of the government to introduce a set of judicial reforms, so that people could have access to speedy justice.

Speaking to the members of PPP-S provincial organising committee and office-bearers of different districts here at the People’s House on Saturday, chairman of his own faction of PPP and former interior minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said “We will continue our struggle for the attainment of political goals. A bright future for Pakhtuns, eradication of poverty and backwardness are the main points of our party’s political programme.”

He said that struggle for the rights of Pakhtuns and provincial autonomy are the focal points of his party’s politics.

Senators Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli and Haji Ghufran, fomer MNA Sher Akbar, MPAs Sikandar Khan Sherpao and Mohammad Ali Mohmand, former NWFP ministers Bakht Bedar Khan, Iftikhar Khan Mohmand, former MPAs Ghani Mohammad Khan, Haji Jamshed Khan, Asad Yar, Fazlur Rehman Nono, Mutawakal Khan, Fazal Wadood Khan, Sadullah Shah, Malik Zarawar Khan, Faqir Hussain, Ibrar Saeed, Zulfikar Jadoon and others attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed party’s organisational matters and political situation of the country and formed five separate committees, including policy planning, constitutional, reconciliatory, women and Fata committees to organise the party on sound footings.

Mr Sherpao hoped that the people would continue to support his party. He said that people had always pinned hopes on the PPP-S for solution to their problems. The PPP-S leader said that the workers were the real asset of his party, and he would consult them on all political and organisational issues.
