FAISALABAD, April 26: Three armed men took away Rs22.8 million in cash and traveller cheques (TCs) on Friday from the Habib Bank Dudhiwala branch.

Three bandits entered the bank at about 10:15am. After thrashing and disarming the bank guard, they locked the entire staff of the branch in one room, collected Rs1.4 million cash and Rs 21.4 million TCs, and fled.

Bank sources said the criminals drove away, depriving a bank customer of his car.

The local police picketed all the major roads of the city after getting information, but could not find the culprits.
