HYDERABAD, April 30: Public sector universities of Jamshoro and Hyderabad districts will remain closed on Thursday on account of Labour Day.

The spokesmen of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Sindh, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology and Sindh Agriculture University on Wednesday announced suspension of academic and teaching activities in their universities on Thursday.

However, the clinical faculty members of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences will provide emergency cover to admitted and outdoor patients of the affiliated hospitals.

Meanwhile, the labour community of Hyderabad will observe May Day to commemorate the sacrifices of workers of Chicago who laid down their lives for their rights.

Various labour and trade union organisations have planned to take out procession and rallies, and hold seminars and workshop to highlight the sacrifices of Chicago workers.
