SUKKUR, April 28: The Taluka Municipal Officer of Sukkur City, Allah Dino Chachar, was transferred and Mohammad Ali Baloch was asked to immediately take over as new TMO of Sukkur City.

The action was taken by the Sindh Local Bodies Minister Agha Siraj Durrani after taking notice of the corruption charges levelled against Mr Chachar.

Sources claimed that then taluka nazim New Sukkur Abdul Haque Chohan and naib nazim Ghulam Murtaza Ghangro had met the Sindh local bodies minister Agha Siraj Durrani and apprised him of the illegal activities of the TMO and also demanded a departmental inquiry against him which resulted into his immediate transfer.

According to sources, the reason of this transfer is said to be illegal allotments in the city, approval of layout plans of multi- storey buildings in the thickly populated areas and undue favour to builders.

Recently, despite a ban the former TMO had leased out a plot adjacent to Mustafai Hospital, which sparked protests and the Awam Dost Panel councillors sought action against him.
