Tariq claims golf crown

RAWALPINDI, April 27: Tariq Mehmood of Navy won the President of Pakistan golf championship at the Rawalpindi Golf Club on Sunday.

He played an excellent last round of seven-under 65 to claim the top prize among the gross scorers with three-day score of 212.

The second and third gross went to Sajid Khan (225) and Khalid Mehmood (227).

The title trophy, decided on the basis of net scores, went to Tahir Janjua who had a three-round tally of 205, followed by Munir Haider Malik (209) and Tariq Saleem Malik (211).

President Pervez Musharraf distributed prizes among the winners.—APP
