KARACHI, April 27: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that a comprehensive plan is being chalked out to take action against hoarders, smugglers and profiteers in view of the shortages of wheat and other commodities inherited by the elected government from the past regime.

Talking to the representatives of mercantile community, the chief minister said that the government had decided to put a strict check on smuggling and hoarding.

He warned that hoarders and profiteers would not be allowed to take any advantage by creating artificial shortages.

He said the government was making all out efforts to overcome the problems of soaring prices, foreign loans, unemployment, poverty, oppressive system and injustices, which was inherited from the past undemocratic set-up.

However, he said, people had rightly pinned hopes to the present regime that was committed to provide relief to them according to the programme and manifesto given by late Benazir Bhutto.

Mr Shah asked traders, exporters and businessmen to join hands with the government to help alleviate miseries of people.
