RAWALPINDI, April 26: Major Tahir Janjua tied with Akbar Mian as joint leaders among the net scorers while Tariq Mahmood maintained his outright lead in Gross section after 36 holes of play in the main event of the 48th President of Pakistan Cup Golf Championship at the Rawalpindi Golf Club on Saturday.

Both Tahir and Akbar returned two-round net cards of 138 each with final 18 rounds of the 54-hole main event to be played on the last day on Sunday.

Tariq Saleem Malik trailed one stroke behind at 139 while his fellow Rawalpindi golfer Munir Haider Malik had a two-round tally of 141.

In Gross section, Tariq (147) was five strokes clear of the second-placed Ejaz Hussain Qureshi of Rawalpindi (152).

One stroke further behind was the pair of Sajid Khan and Khalid Mahmood with 153 each.

The subsidiary, ladies and seniors’ events also continued on the second day of the three-day championship.—APP
