MIRAMSHAH, April 24: A man was shot dead on suspicion of spying for the United States in the North Waziristan tribal region on Wednesday night.

Gul Zali Khan was a resident of the Birmel area near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Sources said that Gul Zali had been kidnapped from the general bus stand in Miramshah three days ago. A note found on his body said that he had been punished for spying for the US.

Officials have handed over Gul Zali’s body to his relatives.
