HYDERABAD, April 25: The finance department, government of Sindh, on Thursday released Rs257 million for payment of outstanding dues to ex-employees of SRTC.
A letter addressed to the Sindh secretary of labour and transport, states that the money is being released to the department as a loan at 14 per cent mark-up with the condition that it will be used to pay for the dues of SRTC’s ex-employees.
The ex-workers are to be paid dues minus mark-up but the loan money is to be credited with mark-up to the head of account “224000-Recoveries of loans and advances” after auction of SRTC assets, both movable and immovable, the letter says.
TEACHERS’ TRAINING: Noted educationist and former director education, Mr Muhammad Saleh Gopang, has stressed the need for introducing supervisory system in the educational institutions and community monitoring to improve the standard of education.
He was speaking at the concluding ceremony of a ten-day academic supervision in-service training programme organised by the Middle School Project, Sindh government, at a local hotel here on Thursday.
The programme was attended by 32 officers of Hyderabad, Dadu, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas and Tharparkar districts.
Gopang said that through training, refresher courses, monitoring and supervision, the teachers could spread education in an effective way.
EDO (education) Hyderabad, Mr Eijaz Ali Baig, Daulat Bashir, Mehmood Ali Lakho, Qasim Bughio, Umro Bhutto, Madhuri Sharma and Sikandar Mallah also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of training for in-service teachers.
