LAHORE, April 22: The Punjab University Academic Staff Association has condemned the murder of Balochistan University Vice-Chancellor Prof Safdar Kiyani.

Talking to Dawn on Tuesday, PUASA President Dr Mumtaz Salik and Secretary-General Prof Dr Mehr Saeed Akhtar said the association would hold a symbolic funeral for Prof Kiyani at PU administration block masjid at 1:15pm on Wednesday (today).

They have appealed to the university teachers to participate in the funeral prayers.

They said Prof Kiyani was appointed vice-chancellor of the Balochistan University just two days ago after the removal of a “matriculate VC”. The PU would observe three-day mourning, they said.— Staff Reporter
