ISLAMABAD, April 18: Pakistan Army’s Doctrine and Evaluation Director General Lt-Gen Shujaat Zamir Dar on Friday said medical and nursing were the noblest of professions and were extremely demanding, according to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate.

Lt-Gen Zamir Dar was addressing the passing-out parade of female medical cadets of Basic Military Training and Armed Forces Nursing Services Senior Cadets Diploma Course that was held at the Armed Forces Postgraduate Institute in Rawalpindi.

Thirty cadets were commissioned in the Army Medical Corps, whereas 70 nursing cadets were awarded with diploma.

Congratulating the cadets on successful completion of their training, Lt-Gen Zamir Dar said they would have to uphold highest professional standards coupled with sympathy, care and devotion.

“You are all set to step into your practical life, you must not forget the golden triad of principles set by Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, that is, Unity, Faith and Discipline. You should not forget that duty takes the highest precedence in your working and it should over ride the self in you,” he stressed.

Later, he reviewed the parade and gave awards to the cadets.

Commandant’s Cane was received by Company Senior Under Officer Ayesha Anwar for being the best cadet in the course. Range Efficiency Trophy was received by Medical Cadet Afshan Bibi, whereas Faiza Aslam won the Physical Efficiency Trophy. Fatima Company won Commandant’s Trophy for being the best company.

A large number of serving and retired officers from the Army Medical Corps and relatives of the passing-out cadets witnessed the parade.
