Teachers Demand salaries

BADIN, April 17: Scores of the feeder teachers of National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) here took out a rally against the district general manager of NCHD for applying dilly-dallying tactics in payment of their salaries which were not paid since past two months.

They started their protest from Hyderabad bus stop and marched on the city’s main thoroughfares.

They observed a sit-in at Badin-Karachi road for over an hour.

The feeder teachers blamed the general manager of the NCHD for a serious setback to the progress of education in the district.

They said that 1,500 teachers were facing hardships due to the non-payment of their salaries while the district general manager had asked them to keep quiet or discontinue their jobs.

They said that the teachers’ family members were starving while the general manager taking his office staff on tours.

The feeder teachers demanded of the speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza and Dr Zulfiqar Mirza for early release of their salaries and transfer of the general manager from the district.
