Worry for growers

BAHAWALPUR, April 23: Money-starved wheat growers are finding it hard to deposit security to get gunny bags from the food department.

Though refundable after the sale of wheat, Rs 50 per bag is too much for the poor growers who had been hit hard financially by the failure of last two crops —wheat and cotton — to attract fair price.

Talking to this correspondent, a number of farmers urged the government to review the policy.
